Individual Therapy

I'm a therapist who emphasizes action, curiosity, and change. Clients who work well with me tend to be motivated to understand the root of their suffering and to build real skills — not just gain insight, but actually shift how they move through their lives.

My training spans multiple evidence-based modalities, and I match the approach to the person and the problem. For trauma, that might mean prolonged exposure or cognitive processing therapy. For OCD, exposure and response prevention. For chronic stress and anxiety, often an integration of acceptance-based therapy with biofeedback.

I also bring a long-standing personal practice — daily meditation, yearly silent retreats, mentoring from several meditation teachers — that profoundly shapes how I approach suffering. My goal is to help you learn true stress recovery — not just insight into why you're struggling, but a genuine shift in how your nervous system and your mind handle what comes.

In-person in Redwood City (Tuesdays & Thursdays) or via telehealth (Wednesdays).

Biofeedback

Biofeedback offers real-time physiological feedback — heart rate variability, muscle tension, respiration, body temperature, skin conductance, and breathing chemistry (capnometry) — so you can learn to regulate your body's stress response while watching the data change in front of you.

What distinguishes my approach is the integration. I don't treat biofeedback as a standalone relaxation technique. I blend it with mindfulness-based psychotherapy to address the mental forces that maintain chronic stress: rumination, disconnection from or overconnection to the body, and emotional suppression.

I also integrate biofeedback directly into exposure-based therapy — so the physiological data is part of the therapeutic process itself. You can see your nervous system respond to a challenge in real time, and learn to recover from it with the data as your guide.

Available in-person in Redwood City. Remote HRV biofeedback available throughout California — either as a standalone program or integrated into ongoing therapy sessions.

Modalities I use

  • Heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback
  • Surface electromyography (sEMG) — muscle tension
  • Skin conductance (electrodermal activity)
  • Peripheral temperature biofeedback
  • Capnometry — breathing chemistry (etCO₂)
  • Respiration rate and mechanics

A note on my approach

The specific service matters less than the integration. Whether you come for therapy, biofeedback, or an evaluation, you're working with a clinician who sees the whole picture — physiology and psychology, data and lived experience, technique and relationship. Every treatment plan is individualized based on what your nervous system and your clinical picture actually need.
